STAFF OR CLUB MAGAZINES
$110 an hour - quarterly or monthly 24 page staff or club magazines from $2,200 incl. GST
(excludes printing and distribution). No, this is not a misprint!
That's all we charge for our high quality content. Because we look after your needs on a periodic basis, with you supplying all the raw copy and pics well ahead of our material deadlines, we can still look after all our other day-to-day clients whilst still looking after your magazine after hours and even on weekends (without the those nasty agency fees for overtime).
Everything flows at a nice, steady pace. You will have plenty of time to think up staff story ideas, take their pics, supply them to us ... we can then ring them and interview further if ever required for an even meatier story. If you take the time to do your job of being a valued client of ours, we will have ample time to concentrate on some truly exceptional creative editorial executions that will do wonders for your brand ... and staff morale.
St George Marketing & Public Relations was founded in 2004 by a publications expert with 25 years experience in executive publication management, advertising sales and marketing, editorial direction, enterprise content management and design and production coordination. We specialise in regional club or staff magazine production and publicity campaigns (weekly or monthly press release services).
Our quality content is created by award-winning writers and designers and every magazine is under the watchful eye of in-house editors and marketing experts.
St George Marketing & Public Relations is available to help any small business on the grow, any club, pub or professional firm in NSW Austrlia to improve their internal communications via the misunderstood power of a company or club branded staff magazine. We are continually researching and developing innovative and new magazine solutions that can fit the needs of a wide range of organisations working in a variety of industries.
We are a wholly Australian owned-and-operated consultancy based in Southern Sydney for 30 years. But we have also spent many years in and around the Hawkesbury, Sydney's Northern Beaches, Canberra and 'God's Country', Sutherland Shire.

LET’S TALK STRATEGY
& GRAMMATICAL CORRECTNESS
THE first stage is to agree and document a strategy that fits with your ambitions, brand strategy and that supports those running the PR and marketing functions.
This is critical as you can only measure a campaign’s success or failure if you have tangible and agreed ‘milestones’ to measure against.
It’s more than just getting you relevant press coverage.
Although PR tends to be thought of as media exposure by many, a good campaign may embrace a number of different disciplines. The potential to use advertising, press relations, events, sponsorship, direct mail and the Internet are huge. Some of the best campaigns that have changed public perceptions have been ‘PR led’ and have included all these elements.
PR offers the opportunity to raise the profile of a person or organisation by getting others to talk about them, making it credible. In recent years, the huge advancements in technology have led to information overload.
As a result, PR consultants have to work much harder to come up with new and creative ideas that will stand out in a crowd. PR works best when it is realistic, sensible and when an appropriate budget is determined. Your budget MUST match your expectations. It is the job of St George Marketing & PR to manage your expectations, but you will also need to be very clear about your brief and a sensible budget.
BRIEF US CORRECTLY
AT St George Marketing & Public Relations, we give your marketing, design or public relations brief every chance of success. A thorough client briefing to us will make a world of difference to your campaign’s effectiveness.
We have to understand your objectives to translate these ideas into powerful and compelling communications. The following guide sets out the 10 keys to your campaign’s success:
1. Background
What is the big picture? What is happening in your particular market? What is your company’s positioning in its niche market?
2. Objective
What is the objective of your future marketing activity? Is it to generate more inbound sales calls? Is it to raise your profile? What results do you require? How do you see the key message communicated most effectively? What would you like your target audience to think and feel about you? How do they think and feel now?
3. Target Audience
Who exactly is your target audience? The more specific you can be, the more successful will be your campaign. Demographics, psychographics, age, sex and geography will all combine to give us the most accurate picture of these “VIPs”.
4. What do we want to say?
What is the pure essence of your brand? What are your USPs? What is the most important value proposition for your brand? What are the three key features and benefits of your product/service. What is the most important thing we can say to achieve your objective? This should be a seven word sentence (or two) expressing a specific idea or philosophy you can picture one day on a massive billboard.
5. What do we need?
What is the preferred format, structure, size, scope and description of the marketing activity or collateral? What is the ‘call to action' or response mechanism? How will your message reach the target audience? Which channels shall we use?
6. What are the other essential elements?
What logos, contact names, telephone numbers, codes / references must be included? Anything else you consider a ‘must have’?
7. What is the timeframe?
A realistic timeframe is essential. This will vary depending on the nature of the activity or communication, the delivery address and the number of people you need your message to reach. Always try to give us enough time for creative think-tanks and brainstorming to get the most out of your campaign.
8. How many do we need?
What is the quantity? This is crucial to establish your marketing communications and public relations budget.
9. What is the budget?
Do you have a realistic budget authorised for this campaign? Are you authorised to sign the purchase orders? If not, who is? Can you at very least provide us with a ballpark budget estimate? With a price range, we know your intentions are genuine.
10. Who gives the campaign approval order?
Who writes the purchase orders? What is their availability? What is their name, telephone number, address and email address? We will need to see them before any creative concepts or mock-ups are prepared on your behalf. That’s only fair, right?

LOCAL KNOWLEDGE, GLOBAL EXPERTISE
ST GEORGE Marketing & Public Relations is unlike any other boutique communications consultancy operating anywhere on the planet. We provide high class communications strategies to start-ups, sole traders and small to medium sized business operators who genuinely have a plan to triple in size within 3-5 years.
They must have a concrete business expansion plan in place and back that up with a serious marketing and advertising budget of at least 10-15% of their gross annual (or forecast) sales turnover. And no, we’re not kidding! We are extremely selective with whom we deal with and routinely, but politely, decline business where there is any possibility of indecision.
Life’s too short, after all … and after 25 years in the business (and at the very highest levels of government and the corporate world) we can quickly sort the wheat from the chaff. So please don’t be offended if we respectfully excuse ourselves from preliminary discussions as you may not immediately qualify for our representation.
The most common way of seeing this happen is simply by refusing to complete our qualifying survey … a 15 minute needs analysis that is non-negotiable as it gives us an excellent insight into your business and its success potential. If you are finding this a bitter pill to swallow, relax. We are not looking for 100 new clients a year like our CBD and North Sydney colleagues. We are happy with just a handful a year … because we want your business for life, not for a few months.
($110 an hour - weekly press releases from just $330 incl. GST)
WHILE exciting product launches, cocktail parties and exclusive interviews are a small part of the industry, the majority of the public relations work we do locally with SMEs, clubs and councils is much more mundane and very “grassroots”.
One industry definition of PR is: “the planned and sustained communication of an organisation’s messages to its audiences”. What this means in practical terms is establishing, managing, and enhancing reputation – and used correctly, this process can have major benefits for Southern Sydney and Southern NSW small businesses, with up to 20 employees and councils.
Everyday advertising provides general awareness of a product or issue, and control over exactly what’s being said about it in a guaranteed, paid-for space. PR helps you to educate and inform your audiences by going into more depth about the reasons behind what you want to say. The coverage given to a PR news story is EARNED, so it stands on its own feet … there are no guarantees about the amount you will get.
LOCAL BRANDING CAMPAIGNS
($220 an hour - monthly publicity from $880 incl. GST)

Our public relations campaigns are conducted locally throughout Southern Sydney and taking in the Illawarra, NSW South Coast, Southern Highlands, Macarthur, Nepean, South-Western Sydney regions, the Inner West, Western Sydney and the Sydney CBD through the internet, newspapers, television and magazines.
We pride ourselves on the network of strategic specialists nurtured over the past 15 years throughout Sydney NSW, Australia … and even the world. Our direct marketing, public relations and direct response advertising campaigns can promote your product(s) or service(s), and will fire the imagination of your potential and current customers. The publicity arm of our business can help clients gain a fair hearing from the media.
DIRECT RESPONSE CAMPAIGNS
(including TV & RADIO interviews)
($330 an hour - entire campaigns from just $33,000 incl. GST)
WHAT is Direct Response TV and radio? TV and radio stations have to fill every second of every day with content. Your surplus inventory can sell at a discounted rate using Direct Response TV and radio. St George Marketing & PR advertisers can often receive off-peak rates giving viewers and listeners a toll free number to gain immediate access to goods and services.
Media is sometimes available on a “run of station” (ROS) basis. The station will run your ad when it likes over a six-hour timeframe. As a result, the St George Marketing & PR client pays a fraction of the usual cost.
We are a leading direct response advisory service on media placement and all aspects of DRTV and DR-radio servicing the 40 local government areas throughout Southern Sydney NSW, the Illawarra, the NSW South Coast, the Southern Highlands, Macarthur, Nepean, South-Western Sydney, the Inner West, Western Sydney and the Sydney CBD.
We can buy time slots in bulk on your behalf in most metropolitan, regional and community network broadcast affiliates in local markets plus cable.
